The classic route from the Refuge des Conscrits offers an introduction to mountaineering without major technical difficulties. The main challenge remains endurance, as the route is long. Gran Paradiso (4,061 m) – Italian Alps
The Gran Paradiso, the only 4,000m peak entirely located in Italy, is a classic choice for a first 4,000m climb . Its ascent is known to be relatively accessible and very gradual.
The scenery is spectacular throughout the route, with exceptional views of Mont Blanc from the summit. An overnight stay in a mountain refuge and an early start allow you to fully enjoy the experience. Be careful of the sun at altitude: category 4 sunglasses and sunscreen are essential.
